Michael Weiss Fabrics
Michael Weiss began his training in the fine arts and design long before he enrolled in The Julliard School, a breeding ground for brilliant artists. His mother, Lillian August, was an accomplished artist and designer. She allowed Michael to chime in and collaborate on her projects when he was just a young boy. Michael’s interest in history and fine art developed into a impenetrable passion for modern furniture and interior design.
Weiss’ furniture collection for Vanguard was what put him on the map, and eventually led to his beautiful collection of fabrics for Kravet’s contemporary line, Kravetmodern. These fabrics feature stunning modern designs in luscious materials that resonate with almost any style and setting. Michael draws inspiration from his favorite fashion designs as well, specifically Karl Lagerfield.
Romantic Moderism is a term that many use for his charming designer. His crisp and refreshing designs allow a space to have a serene and luxurious feel. The bold geometrics in understated colors are a great splash of texture and pattern in a room without being obnoxious or overwhelming. Whether he is working with an individual on their residential interior, or a larger commercial setting, Weiss takes the needs of the client into great account when it comes to turning a vision into reality.
